This Privacy Policy of the National “Manager of the Year” (MOTY) contest governs how we manage any personal information we may now, or in the future, gather from any MOTY internet website, including www.ManagerOfTheYear.org and www.tieivote.com/manageroftheyear.

MOTY employs physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the security and integrity of any personal information collected from our applicants and users of any of our internet sites. We use sound data management principles whenever we transmit or receive any personal information.

MOTY tightly controls any and all collected personal information. Any information we collect that can be associated with a specific individual, including (but not limited to) names, addresses, phone or email information, or any other data, remains accessible only to approved MOTY staff and sponsors. Any agent or contractor that transacts with MOTY may have access to MOTY’s information, but only if such an agent or contractor specifically adheres to MOTY’s Privacy Policy.

The MOTY website and the MOTY Constant Contact account may now or in the future collect the following types of personal information: names, postal and e-mail addresses, phone and facsimile numbers, and unsorted commentary like feedback and complaint information. We may also collect information about businesses, some of which could constitute personal information, as well as personal information from individuals acting solely in their business capacity. MOTY will never collect or maintain information from any person actually known to be under the age of 13, and no part of our site is structured to attract anyone under the age of 13.

Unless we obtain in advance the specific permission of the applicant or site user, MOTY will not use personal information for any purpose other than that for which the applicant or site user submitted it. At certain site locations where the MOTY collects personal information, applicants and site users may be given the opportunity to subscribe to a mailing list that would used to provide information about the MOTY Award or other MOTY-related property/products/services. At any time Applicants and site users can add or remove their contact information from any MOTY mail or email list by contacting us.

MOTY will never rent, sell or share collected personal information. MOTY may exchange collected personal information with contracted partners/sponsors or other entities maintaining formal business relationships with MOTY, but only if the partner or other entity specifically adheres to this Privacy Policy. MOTY may also release personal information to appropriate governmental authorities under the following circumstances:

– where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation, or is requested by a government agency conducting investigations or proceedings

– where MOTY suspects that an individual or company may be engaged in criminal or fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a governmental agency should be made aware of

– where communication suggests the possibility of harm to others.

The ManagerOfTheYear.org web site does not track, collect or distribute personal information that is not specifically entered by Applicants or site users. MOTY maintains site logs that generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our site. This information is used for internal purposes by MOTY’s technical staff to provide better services to our Applicants and site users. MOTY may also provide this information to other organizations. However, these site logs and the resulting statistics do not contain personal information that can be associated with specific individuals, and cannot be used to gather or generate such information. A cookie is a small amount of data sent to a browser from a Web server and stored on a computer’s hard drive. MOTY may now or in the future use non-identifying cookies (cookies that do not identify a specific user) to provide easier site navigation and access to forms, and manage online voting behavior. The MOTY site can still be accessed by browsers that are set to reject cookies, but participation in voting activity may be disabled. Cookies on the MOTY site do not generate personal data, do not read personal data from individual computers, and are never tied to anything that could be used to identify a specific individual.
